MN Farms Inc. This round log cabin was
constructed in 1956 by A.J. Kaufman for the purpose of a hunting and
vacation retreat. It has now passed onto its 4th generation of
Kaufman's (A.J. Junior is only 6 years old now). It was in need of
some TLC, so Cabin & Timber was called in to provide its
services. We raised the corner of the building 4 inches and pulled
the walls back together, we secured the crossties, raised the sunken
purleins and rebuilt the failed doorway. We stripped, stained and
sealed the exterior, repaired the rotten logs and chinked the
building inside and out. Then we installed 4 king posts and also
supported the west wall with two new uprights. After applying the
finishing touches, the cabin was finally restored to its original
glory and splendor.
